Prince William and Princess Kate enjoy a casual pub date in Windsor
I have an unusual obsession with royals doing normal things, and to my delight, Prince William and Princess Kate are happy to oblige.
Maggie Saxton, an education executive who was honored this week for her accomplishments, had the good fortune to actually witness the Welsh couple doing something quite normal. In other words, this really is the ultimate in celebrity spotting.
Anyway, Saxton was awarded an OBE this week and was celebrating afterwards when she casually stumbled upon the prince and princess enjoying a date with a normal person.
The North East Learning Trust tweeted, "Congratulations to Chairman Maggie Saxton who received her OBE from Princess Anne at Windsor Castle yesterday. Maggie was thrilled to be able to attend the ceremony and especially to sit next to the Prince and Princess of Windsor in a local pub after the ceremony!"
I was also very pleased to be able to attend the awards ceremony.
I (along with "Hello! magazine) speculated that this was a lunchtime visit to the pub, where the royal couple enjoyed a classic British meal while their children were at school in nearby Rum Rook.
This is not the first time Kate and William have been spotted at a local pub; in 2021, they were spotted with George, Charlotte, and Louis at a (regular!!!) restaurant near their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. They were seen enjoying a burger and fries.
And last month, the royal couple super-competed with each other while learning to mix cocktails at a bar in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Honestly, being royalty isn't easy every day, so at least they get to do (and eat!) normal things from time to time. I'm glad they get to do that.
