Just for the record, Queen Camilla is "definitely" watching "The Crown".
If you were to be the main character in one of the world's most popular television series, would you watch it?
If you are Princess Camilla, the answer is apparently "yes," and OK reports that Her Royal Highness is "definitely" channeling season 5 of Netflix's hit The Crown. This is according to Kristina Kiriakou, a former staff member of King Charles and one of the monarch's former communications directors, who told the British talk show Phil and Holly This Morning, "I think the queen is definitely watching. I don't think the king has the time. I don't think it's a show that would pique his interest."
But Camilla "is in touch with family [and friends]," Kiriakou said.
As portrayed in Season 5, Camilla is accustomed to being portrayed in pop culture, sometimes unfairly. Because of this harsh appearance, says Kiriakou, "people are not used to being portrayed in the same way. They hope they won't be rehashed, but for them it's business as usual."
Season 5 depicts the deep love and affection between then-Camilla Parker-Bowles and the former Prince of Wales, but in the early 1990s they were still married to their respective spouses, Andrew Parker-Bowles and Princess Diana. Season 5 will focus on the infamous "Camillagate" phone call between Prince Charles and Camilla, and Camilla's desire to restore her image after the Prince divorced Diana in 1996.
Camilla seems to be taking the whole "The Crown" situation in stride. She even met and shared a laugh with Emerald Fennell, the actress who played her in seasons 3 and 4 of the series. And the queen consort who recently met him jokingly referred to Dominic West, who plays Charles in season 5, as "Her Majesty," Insider reported.
