Prince Charles likely feels "betrayed" and "bewildered" by Meghan Markle's interview revelations, royal expert says.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's estrangement from the royal family continues to intensify despite several attempts at reconciliation since the Queen's passing.

Currently, the main issues seem to be the continued release of the Sussex couple's various media projects and, first and foremost, Prince Harry's upcoming memoir, SPARE.

The book is likely to cause problems in Harry's relationship with his father Charles and brother William, but with a multi-million dollar contract at stake, the release is proceeding as planned anyway.

On the "Royally Us" podcast, host Christina Garibaldi asked guest Christopher Andersen:" Maybe Harry wants to repair the relationship after all is said and done, but right now he's in too deep with this book and feels like he has no choice but to put it out there in the world?" [The royal writer replied, "I don't know. In other words, they have built a new life for themselves as philanthropists and a kind of communication kings by signing with Spotify and with Netflix: ...... So I think their hands are tied to some extent."

"In other words, I think they want to tell a complete and true story.

Garibaldi then asked Andersen how he thought the royals were reacting to Meghan Markle's various interviews, particularly those in The Cut and Variety magazines.

"I think they're paying attention, and I think they feel betrayed, especially when it comes to Charles," Andersen asserted.

"If you remember the wedding and how Charles took Doria Ragland (Meghan's mother) to sign the guest book and made Meghan walk the last half of the aisle ....... I think he was somewhat perplexed because he really liked her very much."

"The Queen was used to this sort of thing. Prince Charles' son and his wife said some pretty hurtful things ...... It's not surprising. ......"

.

The Sussex couple's interview with Oprah Winfrey seems to have been one of the most significant events in this growing rift, but this memoir, coupled with the Duchess's podcast "Archetypes" and the Netflix co-documentary show unlikely to help.
