Prince William is instructed to "Netflix and Chill" during official engagement
This week, Prince William visited The Garden Cinema in London for Film Africa, a biennial film festival organized by the Royal African Society.
There, Prince William met with "filmmakers and students who highlight the world's leading creativity."
Among those the Prince of Wales met was Mo Abdou, founder of the production company EbonyLife Films, who told him he should see "The King's Horseman," produced by EbonyLife and available on Netflix.
"He said he hadn't seen many African films, but he wanted to, and that he was going to watch The King's Horseman," Abdou said (via OK!)
"I said we need 'Netflix and chill' and he nodded.
"I'm excited to talk to the prince today about my film."
Whether Abdou literally meant that William should be freed from his busy royal schedule and relax in front of the movie, or more ...... It is unclear whether he meant "Netflix and chill" in a suggestive way. Either way, the professional William seemed to take it with the most subdued of nods.
During a Q&A session as part of the festival, Abdou said, "Black storytelling is key." [It doesn't matter if you are from Africa, American, black British, or Caribbean. [Being a global black person and telling stories that reflect black consciousness is something we have to keep doing. [because] the black story is not being told enough. So, 'Is it reverse racism? No, it is not. It's a diversity issue." [This talented group is not only today's creators, but tomorrow's leaders. Can't wait to see more of your work!" He tweeted.
