Camilla did not think Kate Middleton was "worthy" of joining the royal family and was the "mastermind" behind her divorce from Prince William, royal experts claim
Surprise, surprise: members of the Royal Family sometimes think in terms of social hierarchy. I am equally shocked.
In 2016, royal family expert Christopher Andersen claimed that Camilla Parker-Bowles was the driving force behind Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2007 breakup. Why, because she didn't think this young woman was noble enough," he said. I was in London when [William and Kate's] breakup happened. Everyone thought it was only a matter of time before William asked Kate to marry him. And then people started saying that Camilla was behind it," Andersen told The Daily Beast (via Express). [Camilla] is a bit of a snob," he explained, adding, "She's an aristocrat and has always moved in royal circles. She always thought she was the heir to her great-grandmother Alice Keppel, who was Edward VII's mistress."
"She was very proud of that connection and boasted about it as a child and as an adult, and that was her intention; to be part of the royal circle in her role as future king and mistress of the king."
O.. .k' Anyway, because of this opinion, Camilla apparently did not think Middleton was suitable for Prince William,
"She did not see Kate as a suitable member of the royal family," Andersen claimed.
"Kate was the first working class woman to be accepted into the Royal Family. She was descended from coal miners and her mother was a flight attendant."
(By the way, calling Princess Kate a "working class woman" is a stretch. She not only had aristocratic ancestry, but was herself from a very wealthy family and was educated in a series of exclusive private schools)
.
Be that as it may, the current Queen Consort felt that Middleton's legacy was still inadequate. Andersen said,
"So Camilla didn't think that Kate Middleton as an individual, and the Middleton family as a whole, deserved to be in the royal family."
"At the breakup, and even afterwards, Camilla was basically in Charles' ear, one way or the other. I'm told that she whispered in his ear that it was time for a decision to be made"
.
"It has since been publicly confirmed that Charles suggested to William that he either make up his mind with Kate or basically set her free. His motives may have been pure, but Camilla's were not. Camilla was not so sure.
And you enjoy that?
