Meghan Markle's podcast episode is "set up" to "hit the headlines," experts say
Meghan Markle's podcast, Archetypes, has a new episode each week on Spotify.
The conversations she has with her guests each week are fascinating and necessary to analyze the unfair labels often placed on women, but it is the small glimpses into her life behind the scenes that the Duchess of Sussex casually offers that capture the most attention from people and media.
For Judy James, an expert in body language, this is a smart and deliberate move on her part.
"On Meghan's podcast, the story of Meghan's life seems to be dropped in multiple weekly installments," James told Express.
"Each time it comes out, it seems to be set up to reveal some new detail or fact about her life, and those 'reveals' seem to hit the headlines more than the point she is making."
"It also seems to foster the sense that we are invited to learn about her piece by piece, like a giant jigsaw puzzle."
James examined the latest episode of The Duchess, featuring Issa Rae and Ziwe, the latest example of this phenomenon.
"The podcast reveals or gives glimpses of three important secrets of Princess Meghan, but they are much lighter on tears and grief over her own suffering and pain and much more light-hearted and positive or gossip magazine oriented," James commented.
Notably, experts thought the story that Markle was reading a book while in bed with her husband, Prince Harry, was important.
"This is probably the first glimpse British viewers have had of the royal family and their bedtime habits since Michael Fagan invaded the late queen's bedroom and she was there alone," James asserted.
(You may remember this historical storyline from Season 4 of The Crown. If you haven't seen it yet, you should.)
Basically, if you want to learn more about the Duchess's life, tune into "Archetypes" every Tuesday.
