Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Attendance at Prince Charles' Coronation 'Could Cause Havoc,' Expert Says

For King Charles' coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023, Buckingham Palace has not announced the guest list, but it is expected to be approximately 2000 people. It is essentially certain that they will receive an invitation, but whether they will fly to London from their home base in California to attend is debatable. (It also happens to be their son Archie's fourth birthday on the same day.)

According to royal commentator Christiana Maxion, it may be a mistake for Harry and Meghan to attend the coronation, according to OK.

"The Queen's death has definitely changed the family dynamics, and Harry's father, King Charles, would at least want Harry to attend the upcoming coronation," she says." While Harry's return may cause a lot of turmoil in the family, the bond with Princess Meghan could be strengthened in the form of "us against the world,"

which always brings exclusion and fighting."

Since the late King's death in September, rumors have been flying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be planning to return to England, with some media even claiming that a move to Windsor Castle may be in the works. However, according to Maxion, Harry's upcoming book (title and release date confirmed as of this week: "Spare," scheduled for publication on January 10, 2023) could completely ruin that plan and "take Harry's return to his homeland out of the equation."

The book, originally scheduled for release in late fall 2022, was to "expose scandalous material about the monarchy," according to OK, but following the Queen's death, Harry has agreed to "temper" some of his work by going back in time. Royal reporter Richard Eden also said that Harry went back and wrote a new chapter on "the Queen's funeral and the events surrounding it," postponing the book's publication to early 2023.

"This could be a very elegant way of getting all the tenses right, mentioning past queens, and having a new chapter," Eden said.

The contents of the book, previously unknown to members of the royal family, could affect family relations in the near future, including whether Harry and Meghan will attend the coronation in about six months.
