The British royal family is probably "hiding behind the sofa," experts claim.

ICYMI, a Netflix documentary on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has indeed been produced.

After months of unconfirmed rumors, the Duchess of Sussex actually answered questions about it in an interview with Variety, dispelling any doubt that the documentary is indeed being prepared for release.

"But the one big revelation is that we were discussing yesterday whether or not to star in this Netflix drama, and she dropped the bomb," royal expert Russell Myers told Today (via Express).

If, in Myers' opinion, the royal family could ever pretend that this documentary did not exist, they can no longer do so, and they probably don't feel good about it.

"This is happening. This is happening.

"The Royal Family will be hiding behind their sofas waiting for this one.

Of course, we hope this documentary is not harmful to people on either side of the Atlantic, but in the meantime, it is too much fun to imagine Prince Charles and Prince William cowering together behind the palace furniture.

The Sussexes' documentary is described as a "fly-on-the-wall" documentary that takes viewers behind the scenes of their life in America. Royal family expert Omid Scobie believes they will be much more likely to come for the press than for the royal family, but there are concerns about what they can reveal about the office in this series.

According to Variety, the Duchess praised the work of series director Liz Garbus.

"It's great to be able to entrust our story to someone else, and that veteran director is someone I've admired for a long time. But that is not why we tell it. We are entrusting our story to someone else, and that means through their lens," she says.

"It's interesting. My husband has never worked in the industry. For me, I've worked on Suits, so it's great to be surrounded by so much creative energy and see how people collaborate and share their perspectives. It's really fun."
