Prince Harry's Memoirs Reportedly Updated to Include Details on Queen's Funeral
[Sir Geoffrey Archer says that Prince Harry's forthcoming memoir will end with the Queen's funeral, as Harry has written a new chapter on his grandmother's death and the events leading up to her funeral.
Archer, a friend of the late Princess Diana, is deeply concerned that the book will further damage the relationship between Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, and the rest of the royal family, and told the Daily Mail, "I am very sad. I am worried about the book. I know they are writing a chapter on funerals, so that will be the end of the book."

The book was originally scheduled for release in the fall of 2022, but the Mail on Sunday revealed last month that "Harry lobbied to have it changed within 11 hours of the Queen's death, fearing it would be considered an insensitive book. Harry was said to have been 'desperate' to make significant changes after witnessing public support for the Royal Family." In response, Archer says Harry's publisher, Penguin Random House, would be determined to get the original: "They paid Harry a lot of money, like £20 million. They paid a whopping £20 million."
Neither Penguin Random House nor Harry has commented on the book so far, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the Mirror, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are "planning a year of reconciliation to melt the ice with the royal family" - but not until the book is released and the Netflix series ends. Both are scheduled for late 2022 or early 2023.
The Sussexes had hoped to be fully reconciled with the queen in 2023, but that did not happen. (Not that you could have missed this, but the late Queen died peacefully last month at Balmoral Castle at the age of 96.) Harry's book, Meghan's Spotify podcast "Archetypes," and the Netflix documentary they co-produced were attempts to create their own story. This is about where they came from, what they went through, and where they are now. I think it explains a lot about the decisions they had to make and how they got here," one source told The Telegraph.
"Harry has cast a stone in the works," a source told Mail Online. 'He's keen to make it more sophisticated in light of the Queen's death and funeral and his father Charles' ascension to the throne. Published so soon after these events, the book may not do so well. He now wants sections changed. It is by no means a total rewrite. He desperately wants changes. But it may be too late."
Apparently, Penguin Random House requested a rewrite after the first draft was deemed "a touch too strong."
