Meghan Markle reportedly sent a one-on-one letter to King Charles III asking for a meeting.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were scheduled to return to California after their scheduled European mini-tour on Thursday, September 8, but reportedly returned from the UK about two weeks later on Wednesday, September 21. This was the day the Queen closed her life at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle.

According to multiple media outlets, before her departure, Queen Meghan sent a letter to her father-in-law, King Charles III, requesting a private chat to "clear up a misunderstanding" and detailing her visitation requests. A source told OK that Princess Meghan had hoped to speak sometime after the Queen's funeral on Monday, September 19.

"That's right - Queen Meghan one-on-one with King Charles," reporter Neal Schon said. 'That's right. A very brave move by Meghan herself."

Meghan "wanted to explain the rationale for what [she and Harry] have been doing for the last two years," he continued. Meghan's conviction is commendable."

It is still unclear if this story was ever told, as there was only one full day between the Monday of the Queen's funeral and the Wednesday they were to return home, Tuesday, September 20.

"Meghan and Harry will not stay after the Queen's funeral and will return to California," one source said. 'Obviously, they weren't ready to stay in England this long. It has been an emotional and heartbreaking week, but naturally they are looking forward to getting back to Lilibet and Archie. This is the longest they have been away from their children at any one time."

However, according to Page Six, another source denied Princess Meghan's request, calling it a "downright lie."
