Prince Louis offers words of comfort to the Princess upon hearing of the Queen's passing.

Prince Louis is only four years old, but he comforted his mother, the Crown Princess, with wisdom far beyond his years when the Queen died this past Thursday at age 96.

Speaking to children as she walked among mourners outside Windsor Castle yesterday, Kate said that her youngest son, who learned of his great-grandmother's death, told her that "at least Granny is with her great-grandfather now," according to PEOPLE, The Sunday Times (opens in new tab ) royal editor Roya Nikkhah reported.

The Queen's death comes 17 months after Prince Philip died in April 2021 at the age of 99. The couple had been married for more than 73 years when His Royal Highness Prince Philip died.

Kate said this while greeting mourners at Windsor Castle with her husband Prince William, brother-in-law Prince Harry, and sister-in-law Meghan Markle. The new prince invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join Kate in viewing the floral tribute paid to Her Majesty yesterday.

"While I am saddened by her loss, I am also incredibly grateful," William wrote in a poignant post about his grandmother on social media yesterday.

"I knew this day would come, but it will take a little longer for life without Granny to truly feel real." [The Queen's coffin is now on its way to Edinburgh, where it will be laid to rest at Holyroodhouse Palace. The Queen will return to London later tomorrow after a period of mourning in the Scottish capital.
