Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly avoid Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's visit to the UK

The Sussexes return to the UK this week for the first time since their platinum jubilee in June, staying at Frogmore Cottage, their home on the Queen of Windsor's estate, while Prince Harry remains in his native country. Coincidentally, Prince William and Kate Middleton just moved into their new home, Adelaide Cottage, on Queen Windsor's estate this weekend.

However, according to multiple sources, even though the two homes are within a few minutes' drive of each other, the Cambridges and the Sussexes have no plans to meet, and according to royal expert Christopher Andersen (speaking to Us Weekly), they have no plans to meet each other Not only that, but the Cambridges are "trying to avoid" the Sussexes.

"It's going to be interesting to see Harry and Meghan play royal hide-and-seek in the next few days when they go to Europe," Andersen says.

Harry and Meghan Markle's schedule is quite packed and includes visits to several countries. According to The Sun, the couple will arrive in the UK shortly before visiting Manchester on Monday for the One Young World Summit. They will then head to Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event and return to the UK for the Well Child Awards on September 8.

According to Andersen, during the first leg of Harry and Meghan's visit, William and Kate will still be with the Queen at Balmoral (the Queen's summer home) in Scotland; their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, will start school on September 8 at Rum Rook and They will start school on September 8. [Right now,] the Cambridges are at Balmoral [Castle], and Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are there," Andersen said. 'But on September 8, the Sussexes will return to England from Germany. The Cambridges have to go back because they have to return to send their children to school."

The main point of contention between the couple at present appears to be Harry's forthcoming memoirs, the contents of which are largely, if not entirely, unknown to members of the royal family.

"It's going to be like an old-fashioned farce where they try to avoid each other," Andersen says. 'They don't want to see each other because everyone is worried about [the Duke of Sussex's] forthcoming memoir. Harry's book will obviously be full of bombshells."

Until more is revealed about the book, Andersen says, William and Kate seem to want to keep their distance.

"I imagine almost anything would disturb them," he says. 'I don't think I want to talk to them until they see it.'
