Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis not to use royal titles at new school

In the public eye, they are Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but at their new school, Lamoureux (the Cambridge trio starts next month!) ), they will be known as George Cambridge, Charlotte Cambridge, and Louis Cambridge.

As you can see, the surnames are derived from the titles of their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. (When Prince William and Prince Harry were students, they took the names William Wales and Harry Wales, after their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales.) According to the Daily Express, George and Charlotte were known as George Cambridge and Charlotte Cambridge at their previous school, Thomas Battersea, and it appears that they will continue those names at Lamoureux, where they will start on September 8. (How lonely it must be for a young child to be called a prince or princess by his classmates.)

"It is a royal custom for royal children to be addressed by their parents' titles at school," the magazine reported. Thus, George, Charlotte, and Louis are called "Cambridge" after their first names. [When Archie and Lili start school, will they be called Archie Sussex and Lili Sussex, since their parents are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex? The Daily Express reports that this will only happen if Archie and Lili have royal titles, such as the Prince and Princess titles that the Cambridge children have.

And like many young children, all Cambridge children have nicknames: George was called "PG" by the children at Thomas's Battersea School and by his family at home. (George was called "PG" by the children at Thomas's Battersea School and by his family at home ("PG" is, of course, an acronym for Prince George). In reference to the tea brand PG Tips, George is also sometimes called "Tips" by her school friends and parents. Charlotte's parents call her "Lottie," and at the 2019 Chelsea Flower Show, William was overheard calling her "Mignonette." Mignonette" is French for "little cutie" or "small and delicate."

The nickname "Lottie" was confirmed when William and Kate were touring Northern Ireland in 2019. A woman who met Kate that day later told the Daily Mail that Kate had asked her about her son.

"I said, 'He's four,' and she said, 'Oh, he's the same age as Lottie,'" she said. She calls him Lottie."

As for little Louie, according to Life & Style, his older siblings adorably call him "Lou Lou."
