Pete Davidson reportedly undergoing trauma therapy after being harassed by Kanye West
After Pete Davidson began dating Kim Kardashian in the fall, her ex-husband, Kanye West, directed a series of defamatory messages at the comedian through social media posts, threatening songs and violent music videos.
Shortly after Kardashian and Davidson broke up, a source told People that the SNL native "has been in trauma therapy for the most part" since April because of West's behavior toward him.
"The attention and negative feelings coming from Kanye and his antics were a trigger [for Pete] and he had to seek help," the source added.
One of the latest examples of West's harassing behavior occurred shortly after the breakup became public. On Instagram, he shared a doctored New York Times front page with the fake headline "SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28."
A source told Us Weekly that "Kim is furious at Kanye for posting that Skete is dead."
They added, "It was another one of his rants and it's no joke to her. She did not take his attack lightly and demanded that it be removed."
They added, "She was not happy about it.
The rapper did in fact delete the post. As of this writing, his Instagram page says "No posts yet."
The couple, formerly known as Kate, no longer have a romantic relationship, but appear to be on friendly terms; a People source said that Davidson "has no regrets about dating Kim and only wants to make it clear that she has supported him throughout their relationship. I want him to be clear."
They concluded, "Going forward, he just wants to focus on his career."
Kardashian and Davidson dated for nine months before announcing their split.
It is also worth noting that Davidson has been very open about his mental health in the past, including his diagnosis of borderline personality disorder.
