Serena Williams braided hair in her sleep for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding.
Rewind to May 19, 2018, and the royal wedding was literally the only topic of conversation. We were, of course, obsessed with Meghan Markle's natural makeup. But let's not forget the hundreds of guests, including the one and only Serena Williams, clad in equally gorgeous glamour. Arriving at Windsor Castle, the tennis pro wore braids that went all the way down to her hips. How was this hairstyle put together in such a short amount of time?
"What's symbolic about this is that I was like, 'I'm definitely going to have braids at the 'Royal Wedding,' and two or three girls braided my hair," the founder of S by Serena said in a Life in Looks video for Vogue magazine. I laid down. So I lay down and the girls continued braiding until the morning. I finally finished. It was a very long process, but it was worth it."
Now, given the enormous amount of time and dedication that went into creating the gorgeous braids, Williams was determined to give her hair the time it deserved in the spotlight. So she continued to braid her daughter, Olympia, at her first Grand Slam tournament after giving birth to her daughter. "It was right after the royal wedding, so I thought, 'Well, I went through the trouble of getting braids, so I'm just going to leave them in.' So I left it as is," she said.
Williams, who usually goes natural when it comes to caring for her hair, does all her shopping at Target. "They literally have everything," she once told Yahoo! "I feel like they have so much for natural hair, curly hair, black hair. I've tried literally everything from Miss Jessies to curls. I've got cabinets full of products."
"I've tried so many different products.
