Lady Gaga steals a gorgeous $20 hair trick from Marilyn Monroe
If I had to name the skill I am most proud of, it would be blow drying my own hair. My hair, by the way, is not the type that can be perfected with a blow dryer. My post-shower routine is an hour-long journey with a hair dryer in one hand and a round brush (opens with a new tab) in the other, painstakingly parting my hair and praying I make it out alive. So I am proud of this accomplishment, but it comes at a cost. Namely, my precious time and the muscles in my arms that hate me. Luckily, there is a solution: a dryer brush.
Shaped like a round brush (or paddle brush), the dryer brush, also called a hot brush, projects hot air to aid the drying process while styling hair. With one of these and one hand, you can create bouncy, voluminous hair in less time than with a regular blow-dryer.
As with any heat styling tool, start by applying heat protectant to the ends to keep hair safe; for a 90s-style blow-dry, start with a slight parting at the roots and blow-dry upward for volume. For fluffy curls, rotate the brush through the length of the hair and hold the dryer brush at the ends for a few seconds. Some of the brushes on this list rotate on their own, so you don't have to worry about turning the brush.
