On Saturday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (open in new tab) shared a touching post about the fires and information about how fans can support relief efforts on the official Sussex royal family Instagram account.
In the post, the couple wrote:
"Our thoughts and prayers are with people across Australia who continue to face the devastating fires that have been raging for months. From areas where we have personal connections, such as the communities and people of New South Wales we visited in 2018, to the fires in California and parts of Africa, we are increasingly at the overlap of these environmental disasters, including of course the ongoing destruction of the Amazon We are struck by the fact that we are now in the midst of a global environmental crisis. This global environmental crisis is now described as ecocide. It is easy to feel helpless, but there are always ways to help.
