The "Birth of a Star" actress joined Oprah (opens in new tab) on stage for a candid discussion about physical and mental health issues. During the talk, Gaga (open in new tab) discussed chronic pain and living with fibromyalgia, and revealed that she once suffered from mental illness.

"At some point, I had to tell people," Gaga said on stage during the candid chat. 'I can't live a lie and I'm an authentic human being. We all go through things. I said, 'I always share everything about myself with the world, why can't I share this? And maybe I can help people who are having bouts of psychosis."

Gaga continued, elaborating on his experience (open in new tab), saying I was in the hospital. I was tingling from the top of my head to my toes, then numb. 'This may be controversial in many ways, but the medication has really helped me.'

Singer continued to explain that she was at peace with her health and her past, including her experience of sexual assault.

"This happened for a reason. Everything I went through," she said. 'I was supposed to go through this. Everything, even rape. I was told that God told me, 'I'm going to show you pain, and you're going to understand it. And you're going to understand it, so you're going to help other people who are in pain."
