Jennifer Lopez shows off her "Made in Manhattan"-style hair at the Golden Globe Awards.
When Jennifer Lopez attends a red carpet event, she never fails to impress with her looks. (Take this floral gown (opens in new tab) she recently wore to the 31st Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala.) So you can bet I was watching for her appearance at the 77th Golden Globe Awards. But when I finally saw her outfit, it was not the gown that first caught my attention, but her hair.
The actress arrived on the red carpet in a custom Valentino ribbon dress, with her hair pulled back into a giant braided bun. The look was created by Chris Appleton, creative director of Color Wow and celebrity hairstylist, using Color Wow Cult Favorites Firm + Flexible Hairspray (opens in new tab), Color Wow Root Cover Up ( ), and Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Professional Edition (opens in new tab). The hairstyle immediately reminded me of the hairstyle of her character (Marisa Ventura) in "Made in Manhattan" (one of my favorite J.Lo films, aside from "The Hustler," of course). In the movie, Marisa, a maid, was dressed up to meet her love interest, politician Christopher Marshall, at a fundraising event. The updo is almost identical to what she wore in the 2000s, and I love the throwback.
Here's a side-by-side:
More of her looks:
J.Lo is nominated tonight for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress ("The Hustler"). We're rooting for you, Jen! You and your hair.
