Patricia Arquette Accidentally Punches Joey King in the Head at the Golden Globe Awards

Joey King (opens in new tab) understands the value of truly, uniquely cool things that happen to her.

On Sunday night, the young actress apparently hit her head while celebrating her Golden Globe Award (opens in new tab) with "The Act" co-star Patricia Arquette (opens in new tab). Arquette won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for her role as Dee Dee Blanchard, the mother who suffers from Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, a creepy, proxy version of King's character (opens in new tab).

Both King and Arquette (open in new tab) attended InStyle and Disney's post-Globes event, where they appear to have accidentally hit their heads. On Monday, King tweeted a photo of the bruise the accident left on her front.

"Patricia Arquette accidentally hit my head with a Golden Globe. This one sentence will earn me bragging rights for the rest of my life," she tweeted.

In "The Act" (opens in new tab), the main character, played by Arquette, repeatedly and methodically abuses her daughter (played by King) for years, until eventually she and her boyfriend plan to murder her. Of course, this bit of irony makes the birthmark/medal of honor even more awesome and helps explain why the story gives King a lifetime of bragging rights.
