Will Hannah join Peter's "Bachelor" season?
2019 was a big year for Hannah Brown: The former Bachelorette dated more than 20 men, got engaged, ended that engagement, and won Dancing with the Stars. But 2020 could be an interesting year for Brown, too, as a sneak peek of her ex-boyfriend Peter Weber's season of "The Bachelor" (open in new tab), which premieres January 6, 2020 at 8 p.m. ET, features the southern heartthrob who stole America's The beauty will appear on the show. In one trailer released at the same time as the new trailer, which shows the moment Brown gets out of his limo to surprise Weber, Weber is seen asking, "Maybe Brown would like to join his season. So, um... What.
Update 1/13: ABC left us hanging at the end of Episode 1, but the result remains the same: Brown will not join Weber's season. This episode showed Brown reviewing his choices at Bachelorette and being invited by Weber to join the House. We'll have to wait for tonight's episode to see how it plays out, but Reality Steve confirmed that this is the last episode we will see of Brown, at least for this season. (Hannah, you should be on "Bachelor in Paradise. I'm crossing all my fingers for that.)
Update 1/3: In an interview with Access Hollywood, Weber said he did not ask Brown to come on his season and did not know she would show up. He said, "Before she came out of the limo, before the first night came, I had Hannah out of my mind. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have seized the opportunity." He added: "I saw her that first night." "I might have wondered if I was on top of her."
Update, 12/3: A new press release from ABC about The Bachelor's January 6 premiere offers some insight into what is really going on. I quote: (opens in new tab) "In another big surprise, Hannah B. will host the next group date. She explains that she will be revealing her most memorable sex stories and fantasies to nine enthusiastic women in front of a live audience. But what happens backstage when Peter discovers a distraught Hannah? What she confides to him leaves them both as confused as ever. Will Hannah join the ranks of the women of the Bachelor mansion and continue dating Peter?
In short, there are more questions than answers.
Originally posted 11/26: Obviously, Brown is single-she ended up with both of her last two men, Jed Wyatt was apparently in it for the wrong reasons (opens in new tab), and Tyler Cameron is in it for Gigi Hadid and Hannah Given that they recovered from the season by making it work both ways. (opens in new tab) In an interview with Marie Claire over the summer, she said:(opens in new tab) "I'm perfectly fine alone. I do not need to have a man to feel complete. I don't need a man to live a full life. No, I have a full life. Welcome to my life."
But now it's like this. This is it.
In the video, Weber says, "What are you doing here?" and Brown says, "I'm making a decision for my heart. You can hear him say, "Because I know there is still something here. Weber replies: "What I'm about to say is extremely crazy. What would you say if I asked you to become a part of this house?"
Cut to the screams of the other girls in the house. In another newly released trailer, a contestant complains that it's not fair for her to show up when Brown already had her chance:
Brown's appearance on Weber's season is not strange at all. The show has broken the established rules before: Nick Viall participated in Caitlin Bristow's season and ended up in second place after telling her he wanted to "explore."
Spoilers ahead for The Bachelor. Brown will not be joining Weber's season. Reality Steve wrote on Twitter: "Hannah is not a contestant on Peter's season. On the first night, she gets out of the limo and talks to him (she didn't attend the party), and on the third episode, she shows up on a date and talks to him. Both in LA. She only took a few hours off DWTS to do so."
Also, when asked by "Entertainment Tonight" about his appearance in the trailer, Brown replied: "I don't know. I was dancing on Dancing with the Stars. She also said of the scene: "That's why I had to put it in the promo.
What happened between the two is anyone's guess, but it wouldn't be the first time a teaser for a show showed something that wasn't supposed to happen that way (for proof, see almost any teaser for the show, except for the fence-jumping teaser.) We also know who the final contestants for Weber are, and Brown is not one of them.
But don't be too disappointed: this season is already becoming incredibly dramatic, so even without the addition of the former Bachelorette, we'll get our fair share of drama.
