Meghan Markle pictured smiling on a hike with Archie and her dogs
Canadian photographers continue to document Meghan Markle living her best life on Vancouver Island all over the place, but this weekend she really spoiled them. The Duchess of Sussex was photographed with a big smile on her face as she took her son Archie and their two dogs on a hike. Princess Meghan kept her eyes on her son and kept her face away from the camera. Meghan had her hair in braids and wore a cream-colored beanie with a black jacket and pants. The Sun (opens in new tab) featured a photo of her (opens in new tab) on its cover.
Preliminary details of Meghan and Harry's departure from senior positions in the royal family were hammered out in London last week. Meghan remained in Canada with Archie, where she easily performed the routine things she could not do as royalty: she drove her car, went to the drugstore, and was photographed picking up a friend at the airport. She also visited two organizations that focus on supporting women. The rest of her life remains private, as it should. She is no longer a full-time working royal.
Prince Harry returned to Canada yesterday evening after attending meetings about how his and Princess Meghan's progressive new role in the family will work. These were not tense discussions, a source told "ELLE" (opens in new tab) this weekend: "The discussions were all very friendly and constructive, as there was a clear common goal and a desire to reach a successful conclusion. Everyone is satisfied."
A family member further told ELLE that "everyone wants Harry and Meghan to be happy in the end."
