Taylor Swift Explains Why She Fell in Love with Joe Alwyn
Taylor Swift (opens in new tab) is really baring it all in a new Netflix documentary, Miss Americana (opens in new tab). The singer pulls back the curtain, at least a little, on her infamous private relationship with actor Joe Alwyn.
In clips from the documentary, Taylor explains exactly why she fell for Joe in the first place, saying she was initially attracted to his "wonderful, normal, balanced kind of life." The documentary also features several tender moments between Taylor and Joe (opens in new tab), such as when she runs into his arms before walking backstage with him after her concert and when she kisses his hand during a car ride.
Taylor and Joe (opens in new tab) have been dating for more than three years now, the Grammy winner confirmed in her diary for the deluxe edition of her album "Lover" (she wrote that she and Joe secretly began dating in the fall of 2016).
The brief description of Joe's attraction that Taylor offers in the documentary tracks with other tidbits that sources close to the couple have shared over the years: in August 2019, a source told People (opens in new tab) that Taylor and Joe's private approach has made the relationship work, he said.
"Joe loves acting, but he doesn't want to be a celebrity," the source said. 'They both agree that for their relationship to work, they want it to be quieter. She is the happiest she has ever been."
