Channing Tatum mercilessly shuts down trolls who criticize his reunion with Jessie J.
Channing Tatum (open in new tab) will not tolerate trolling on Jesse J (open in new tab). Or trolling in general.
The actor lashed out at haters on Instagram Friday night for comments about his personal life.
"Jenna looks better with you," the Instagram user commented on a photo the actor shared of him and girlfriend Jessie J, who were adorably kissing while wearing matching unicorn hats. The "Jenna" in question is, of course, Jenna DeWan, whom Tatum was married to (open in new tab) for nine years before they split in 2018.
By the standards of anonymous internet opinion, the comment was not particularly negative, but its implications did not sit well with Tatum, who posted not one but two lengthy comments defending Jesse J (open in new tab) and the broader concept of beauty against it, writing :
"I don't usually say this. But you seem like a thoughtless person who hates awful happy people. Why don't you seriously consider what you are doing. It is hurtful and I don't care about that. If you can't be a horrible hateful person on my page and support women with endless and unattainable beauty like Jess... Please, get TF out of here. No one wants you here. Especially me. And no one is more attractive, beautiful, and human than Jess. Including my ex-girlfriend. I'm sorry for your opinion. But what I said is true. Just a fact. Then watch what you do.
In a follow-up comment, Tatum clarified her original comment (open in new tab), delved deeper into the subjectivity of beauty, and added:
"And for others who love to turn shit around, let me be super clear. Jenna is beautiful and amazing in her own way. But she is not more beautiful or better than anyone else. Beauty is not something that can be measured. It is in the eye of the beholder. So while you infinitely beautiful people read over these words and try to figure out the witty ones, I'm going to enjoy MC. I am going to enjoy my MF night with a gorgeous lady and snuggle up to her beautiful heart."
Tatum has since disabled comments on the post, but a screenshot of the message to the troll was shared by Comments by Celebs.
Jesse J thanked Tatum (open in new tab) for defending her, writing, "My BABY! Horns OUT!"
Six hours later, Tatum shared another photo of Jesse (open in new tab) and captioned it, "Magic sculpture.
