Blake Lively brings vintage glamour to the red carpet for the first time since giving birth to her third child.

The press tour for Blake Lively's film "The Rhythm Section" (opens in new tab) has begun, and on Monday night she returned to the red carpet after giving birth to her third child last year, as reported by EntertainmentTonight (opens in new tab), Lively brought old Hollywood glamour in floor-length black velvet for the New York screening. She wore thigh-high leather boots, matching leather gloves, and a necklace stacked with pearls, chains, and gemstones.

Here's the tricky thing: I can't give you the designer details Lively wore, because unlike most celebrities, the actor styles himself (so no stylist to spill the details on Instagram). In a 2018 with WWD interview (opens in new tab), when asked why she chooses to put together her own ensemble, she joked, "Probably because I have control issues and a big ego, so that would be the honest answer."

She further explained, "I love design. I love design and fashion and it's a way to be creative. I can be creative in my work, but it's over a period of time and there are a lot of people involved.

Back to "The Rhythm Section": director Reed Morano recently spoke to Digital Spy about the revenge thriller, explaining (opens in new tab) why he cast Lively in the lead role as a bereaved woman turned assassin. 'We cast Blake in this role because this is what we see all the time, the usual suspects do. As an audience member, it's more interesting to see genre-defying actors doing different things." Actors often have a really broad range of abilities, and Blake is a prime example of that."

"Stephanie is a very determined and ambitious character who doesn't take no for an answer to accomplish what she sets out to accomplish. In real life, Blake is a lot like Stephanie in many ways," the director continued. She's very determined. When she finds something she wants to do, she doesn't stop until she gets it done. It's a very admirable quality."
