Katie Holmes attends an awards dinner benefiting Bushfire Australia in a beautiful off-the-shoulder dress.
Last night Katie Holmes made an appearance in a gorgeous white shearling dress. Holmes attended the American Australian Association Art Awards Dinner in Chelsea, New York: the Australian Bushfire Relief Effort. Holmes is quietly passionate about the causes she supports, including sustainable fashion brands like Rothy's (opens in new tab).
Styled by New York-based stylist Allison Bornstein, Holmes' dress is from her favorite brand, Khaite (opens in new tab), and her coat is from Wardrobe.NYC, another Holmes favorite (opens in new tab NYC (opens in new tab). Holmes wore it off-the-shoulder, with a black strap bra peeking out from underneath (this sexiness makes it fun and edgy without being stuffy), and black tights (update: they are Calzedonia (opens in new tab)!) under open-toed strappy heels. ) with a matching pair of black tights. She has her hair in a loose bun on top of her head, which somehow manages to look casual instead of messy.
Oh, and she also wore a fabulous oversized black jacket as she walked in and out of the event. (You know how sometimes you throw something over a great look and suddenly it looks ridiculous? Only me." cool)

Holmes' Khaite dress doesn't appear to be for sale, but Vera Wong's Go Out collection has a similar style:
[12 also thanked Jason Weinberg of Untitled Entertainment, where she is being managed. In the same post, she thanked stylist Allison Bornstein (open in new tab) for providing the dress.Later that day (whether this was for the same event is entirely unclear, but hairstylist DJ Quintero called it a "cover shoot"), Holmes fooled around with the styling team. She was obviously wonderful to work with, and I'm glad she was.
Very cute!
