This evening, Kate Middleton and Prince William attended one of the most high-profile annual events, the BAFTA Film Awards (opens in new tab). The Duchess, along with the other red carpet guests, endorsed sustainable fashion. They all adhered to what the awards ceremony had requested in advance (opens in new tab) and wore the fabulous Alexander McQueen gown she wore on her royal tour of Singapore, Malaysia, and the Solomon Islands in 2012 once again. She paired the gold and white look with sparkly pumps, which the blog What Kate Wore sees as possibly Jimmy Choo's Romy pumps, and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry.

Prince William also followed the dress code for the evening, wearing a classic tuxedo.

The gradient glitter Jimmy Choo Romy pumps are still available at Neiman Marcus:

Her Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry appears to be from the Magic Alhambra collection, according to the blog What Kate Wore. (opens in new tab)

While other award ceremonies have nodded to environmentalism, like when the Golden Globes proudly served vegan food, the BAFTA Film Awards are taking it to the next level. A spokesperson told British (opens in new tab)Harper's Bazaar (opens in new tab), "Sustainability is very important to the BAFTAs and we are more committed than ever." "The EE British Academy Film Awards 2020 is carbon neutral and aims to have a net positive impact on the environment. From travel and food to branding and materials, BAFTAs ensure that the awards are as sustainable as possible."

"The BAFTAs are also committed to ensuring that the awards are as sustainable as possible.

To help participants in its mission (if they chose to), BAFTA provided a Sustainable Fashion Guide (opens in new tab) created by the London College of Fashion's Sustainability Center. The guide outlines several options for choosing eco-friendly clothing, from buying used clothing to renting to buying from sustainable brands.

Of course, Kate has been shopping in her closet for years and famously recycled her 2017 BAFTA gown at the National Portrait Gallery Gala (opens in new tab) two years later.
