Who is Joanne Tucker, wife of Adam Driver and co-founder of Arts In The Armed Forces?

You've probably seen Adam Driver on screen a few times over the past decade, from playing Lena Dunham's boyfriend Adam Sackler in HBO's "GIRLS" to Kylo Ren in "Star Wars," he's become a household name in the past half-decade. And thanks to Noah Baumbach's hot new Netflix movie "A Marriage Story," people who didn't know Driver are now getting to know him.

Driver, who co-starred with Scarlett Johansson, earned his second career Oscar nomination. In addition to his Academy Award nomination, Driver was nominated for a Golden Globe, a SAG Award, and a BAFTA Award.

In case you were wondering: Driver married Joanne Tucker in 2013. Here is everything you need to know about Tucker, who enjoys a low-key relationship with Driver.

It sounds like the beginning of a "two actors meet at the most prestigious theater school in the country" rom-com. There is a video of Tucker talking about how lucky he was to be admitted to the Juilliard School's theater department.

Roles you may have seen Tucker in (open in new tab) include cameo appearances in Girls and Showtime's Billions. He also co-starred with his girlfriend in the 2019 film "The Report" and has appeared in off-Broadway productions.

Since the two do not interfere when it comes to privacy (neither Driver nor Tucker have social media accounts), it makes sense for them to hold their wedding away from wandering eyes.

Driver's co-star Lena Dunham and her then-boyfriend Jack Antonoff were reportedly among the lucky guests to attend the ultra-private ceremony. A source close to the girls who attended the wedding told Us Weekly (opens in new tab): "They both love theater and the arts. She admires him very much... Everyone on the show is very happy for them both."

Driver told Broadway.com that the 36-year-old New Yorker raised him to be a city boy. 'She taught me what Gouda cheese was,' he said. And that you shouldn't talk with your mouth full or spit on the sidewalk."

The couple bonded over cheese.

Again, this couple does not mess around when it comes to privacy. While many famous couples have been able to hide the addition of a new family member for a couple of months, Driver and Tucker take the cake for keeping their three-year-old son hidden for two years.

In the following 2017 video from W Magazine, Driver accidentally talks about fighting for attention between his dog and his child.

"When I look at my dog - this sounds so ridiculous, but it's not. I have kids, I have dogs. Nice save

The actor confirmed the addition to their family in October, telling The New Yorker (open in new tab) that keeping the secret was like a military operation. 'My job is to be a spy, to be in the public eye, to live my life and gain experience,' he said. But it's really hard to do that when you feel like you're the center of attention"

.

Along with their 3-year-old son, the couple are also the parents of a Rottweiler/Pit Bull mix named Moose.

Inspired by Driver, a former Marine, the couple founded Arts in the Armed Forces (open in new tab) in 2006. The organization provides free arts experiences to entertain and start conversations about the arts for active duty military, veterans, and their families. Tucker serves as the organization's artistic director.

"The [goal] is to bring thought-provoking, theater-based troop entertainment to an audience not normally associated with theater," Driver told The Guardian (opens in new tab) in 2015.

This is a good old selfie from 2014 (and the closest they've come to appearing on social media).

The couple returns the favor. It doesn't get any better than this.
