Kate Middleton Has a Sweet New Nickname Inspired by Princess Diana

Kate Middleton (opens in new tab) has a sweet new nickname inspired by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana (opens in new tab).

Princess Diana, as any royal fan knows, was known as the "People's Princess" (opens in new tab) because of her wonderful connection to the "common people" and the unprecedented steps she took as royal to get closer to them. And now royal fans are calling Kate the "Children's Princess."

The Mirror (opens in new tab) noted that the nickname first appeared in the comments of an Instagram video posted by Kensington Palace to commemorate the Duchess of Cambridge's landmark "Five Questions" (opens in new tab) survey The Mirror According to the report, early comments on the video included the following:

"Child Princess! The Duchess of Cambridge and our future Queen!"

,

"Catherine is truly a Children's Princess. Thank you to everyone involved in this wonderful project for all your hard work!"

.

The Children's Princess comment continued for several days after the video and pictures of Kate working with the children were posted, and the nickname seems to have stuck.

"I always love it when Princess Catherine meets the children at eye level. She is so sweet and makes the children feel at home." What do you expect from a Children's Princess? ❤️," one fan recently wrote.

The nickname couldn't be more perfect.
