Courteney Cox copies Jennifer Aniston's iconic "Rachel" hairstyle in honor of her birthday
One of the most unrealistic things about "Friends" (open in new tab) is the size of Monica's apartment, where Monica, in a fit of post-breakup anxiety with Richard, never decided to go blonde and then deeply regretted it. (Yes, there was an episode where Phoebe accidentally cut Monica's hair too short, but that's not the same thing.)
But Courteney Cox fixed the missing story by going blonde in real life... Sort of: in honor of Jennifer Aniston's birthday on Tuesday, February 11, the former Friends actress sported blonde hair inspired by her best friend's iconic color. Cox even went so far as to copy Aniston's entire look, including the glasses, as Aniston is a trendsetter among Hollywood's elite.
"No matter how hard you try... There is only one Jennifer Aniston," she captioned an Instagram photo." Happy birthday to my dear friend @jenniferaniston! Love you! ♥️♥️♥️"
It would be nice if Cox had really decided to embrace "Rachel" hair 25 years after the beloved show debuted, but it seems the actor was just wearing a wig for the photo.
The rest of Aniston's former castmates (including Instagram newcomer Matthew Perry (open in new tab)) have yet to post for her 51st birthday, but her morning show co-star (and Friends sister) Reese Witherspoon sweet shared the message.
"Happy Birthday Jen! I couldn't ask for a better friend and partner to chase our dreams with. Life is so much more fun with you in it! ❣️," she writes.
It is unclear how Aniston is celebrating her big day (perhaps she did not attend the Oscars (open in new tab) this past weekend). Fingers crossed that Brad Pitt will be invited (opens in new tab) and hand out blonde wigs as party prizes.
