Timothée Chalamet is a riot in the bathtub in the new trailer.
You would think that first thing Wednesday morning would be all about the coffee! Director Wes Anderson has released the trailer for his highly anticipated The French Dispatch. Anderson, a seven-time Oscar nominee for acclaimed films like "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Moonrise Kingdom," knew how to quench his thirst when I saw it.
Obviously, the Internet had to panic because 1) Timothée Chalamet, 2) Timothée Chalamet is soaking in a bathtub, and 3) Timothée Chalamet is wearing a turban in the tub!
I have many thoughts on this, and the wonderful world of Twitter.
I should probably deviate from Timmy in the Bathtub here and talk about the plot: the film is the story of the last issue of an American magazine published in the fictional 20th century French town of Ennuy-sur-Brasse. The New Yorker magazine (open in new tab) recently spilled the beans that the film is based on that history. Not only will Chalamet appear in Wes Anderson's film, but Saoirse Ronan, Elisabeth Moss, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Frances McDormand will also star. Yes, more!
In short, this is the movie industry's version of "The Avengers," and I will be rewatching the trailers with anticipation until the movie hits theaters on July 24.
