Harry Styles' Brit Awards Outfit Was Inspired by Princess Diana

Harry Styles, you know I love you. But I don't want to say this lightly, Harry, because I might like your wardrobe even more, okay? Don't cry, Harry! Don't cry, Harry! The tailoring is so good! The colors are so vibrant! There's lace and broderie anglaise and pearls! Forgive me, Harry," the heart wants what it wants!

Stiles wore three different outfits at the Brit Awards on Tuesday. According to stylist Harry Lambert (opens in new tab), they took a little inspiration from the royal family: Lambert told "British Vogue" magazine (opens in new tab) that the outfits were a combination of "granny chic" and a hint of Princess Diana Styles is the new Diana, Princess of Wales (new tab). This is not the first time Styles has been inspired by Princess Diana (opens in new tab): remember that fun sheep-print sweater vest?

Stiles' red carpet ensemble was emblematic of his current aesthetic. A brown Gucci suit, a broderie anglaise collar over a purple sweater, a mary jane he would sell his soul for, and pearls to complete the look: a black ribbon on the collar in memory of his former girlfriend Caroline Flack, who died on February 15 (opens in new tab).

For his debut live performance of "Falling," Styles dialed it up: he wore a lace Gucci jumpsuit, suspenders, and white lace gloves. Styles said, "Alessandro [Michele] and Gucci have always dreamed of collaborating. Stylist Lambert told British Vogue, "We wanted this look to be appropriate. We decided to save this look until the right time. When Harry decided to showcase 'Falling' for the first time at the Brit Awards, there was no doubt that it was the moment we had been waiting for."

The final look was a daisy yellow Marc Jacobs suit and lilac pussy bow tie. 'Coincidentally, Harry has been talking about wanting to wear a yellow suit for some time. 'The moment I saw the marigold suit on the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2020 runway, I knew I had to have it. I want one too, Harry! I want it so bad I'm going to cry.
