Bella Hadid wears 90's style tube dress on Versace runway
It's hard to look back on my childhood without succumbing to a merciless avalanche of embarrassment. For example, my denim bucket hat had a pin badge on it that had a thinly veiled reference to drugs I didn't know existed. That I wore pastel purple cargo pants with a pastel purple crop top and pastel purple rubber mules. The time I attended an elementary school holiday party in a floor-length glittery evening gown. But no garment has caused me more distress than the pink jersey tube dress that showed every stitch of the large floral granny pant I was wearing underneath, not caring about the transparency of the fabric or the fact that it showed my underwear line.
Anyway! Bella Hadid wore a tube dress (opens in new tab) and was, of course, incredibly fabulous! Admittedly, it was a little different from the dress that haunts my nightmares: she wore a green, striped, chainmail-like, 90s-early 00s dress on the Versace runway on Friday during Milan Fashion Week, and on Sunday Instagrammed a few of the looks clips posted.
This isn't the first time Hadid has revived the tube dress: Vogue spotted her wearing a wrinkled black dress in 2018 (opens in new tab) and dialed up the 00s vibe with a micro bag, colored sunglasses, and anklets. Yes, she looked so cool and flawless and I now desperately want to wear the tube dress again. But I have too many strong childhood memories. The memories are too strong.
