Demi Lovato celebrates her freckles and "boob chin" in a no-makeup selfie

Demi Lovato, who has frequently spoken about her efforts to love and embrace her appearance over the past year, continued her work by posting a beautiful no-makeup selfie (opens in new tab) on Instagram. Lovato, who looks radiant in this photo, wrote this along with the photo This is me 85% to 90% of the time. I am proud of my freckles, proud of my chin, proud of myself for loving and accepting myself as I am". We are proud of you too, Demi."

Last September, she posted an unedited bikini photo, calling the post her "biggest fear." She wrote 'This new chapter in my life is about being who I am, not trying to meet someone else's standards. So here I am, proud to own a body that has overcome so much without shame or fear"

.

During a recent appearance on Ashley Graham's "Pretty Big Deal" podcast (opens in new tab), Lovato explained that while she believes she is recovering from an eating disorder, she has become an exercise addict in recent years. 'For the last few years I thought I was recovering from an eating disorder, but in fact I had a full blown eating disorder,' she said. I went to the gym for a while. I would eat and go to workouts. That doesn't make me happy. That's not freedom."

Lovato also talked about her new approach to her insecurities about her appearance. Now when I look in the mirror and start having negative thoughts, I stop and say, 'No, you're beautiful. You're gorgeous. I love you. You are perfect just the way you are. Because I don't believe that," she told Graham.

Her new response: "You're healthy and I accept you. So instead of being thankful for being healthy and trying to convince yourself that you don't believe it, you express reality by accepting yourself," she explained. Demi, we send you our love and strength on your journey of self-acceptance.
