Can Hannah Ann Sluss be the next "Bachelorette"?
Bachelor Spoilers As the conclusion of Peter Weber's Bachelor season (open in new tab) approaches, fans are naturally starting to look ahead: who will be the next Bachelor (open in new tab)? It's really hard to root for anyone this season (at least for me), but a possible gut choice would be model and former pageant contestant Hannah Ann Sluss (open in new tab) from Tennessee. Weber's season is not yet finalized, but if rumors are to be believed, Sluss could come in second behind fellow contestant Madison Prewett (open in new tab). And Bachelor Nation loves a good runner-up: see also our first Bachelorette, Trista Sutter!
Before I go any further: I still don't know who is in the title role. At least as far as I know, no one knows yet. Producers are probably in the process of short-listing candidates right now and going out to interview them. However, we can speculate on what it would take to make Sluss a top candidate and what her chances are at this point.
Sluss has the typical background that producers are attracted to these days in terms of pageant history and modeling talent. She is close with her family (the oldest of three siblings) and seems to have little pre-show drama. See also Victoria Fuller (opens in new tab).
There are a few previews where Sluss is actively crying (probably during the finale), and as we know, fans tend to gravitate toward the most recently heartbroken contestant, which may put her ahead of fourth choice Kelsey Weyer.
My guess is that Sluss is the intuitive choice, as Hannah Brown (open in new tab) will never be on the show again.
If Sluss is chosen, she will be the youngest Bachelorette ever (24 years old), along with Hannah Brown. Aside from Champagne Gate and the fact that she pronounced "fiasco" as "finasco" (opens in new tab), she is mostly reserved on the show (surely that was her intention). Her recent mood actually reminds me of a contestant who is good friends with Sluss: Hannah Godwin from Colton Underwood's season (opens in new tab). As you may remember, Godwin was not selected for The Bachelor, but instead made a splash on Bachelor in Paradise.
There is also the fact that Sluss has hunted animals in the past, which now appears to have been removed (Reality Steve has it, but I won't link to it). If she seriously considers this role, it may offend some fans. Sluss was in a long-term relationship prior to The Bachelor, but that ended several years ago, so there is no romantic drama that would affect her.
Sluss occasionally posts on her feed about the show, making puns and posting shots of her and Weber. Loving to see the skeptical attitude of her father "Ranger Rick" from the contestant's parents, who are completely perplexed by the whole thing, Sluss has jumped on the bandwagon supporting her father:
Otherwise, whatever happens, she mostly models and influencers as She's back to work:
So we won't get any tips from her, but she's definitely a strong candidate.
