Meghan Markle will reportedly attend this year's Met Gala.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have stepped down as senior members of the royal family (opens in new tab), but their new nonroyal roles will not fully take effect until spring (opens in new tab). So we are already seeing Meg and Harry start doing things differently, though, such as moving to Canada (open in new tab), speaking at private JP Morgan events (open in new tab), and asking people not to use royal titles (open in new tab), How far Harry and Meghan will go with this normal thing remains to be seen.
But thankfully for us royal nerds (hello, hello), it looks like the Sussexes intend to stay in the spotlight. And according to The Sun (opens in new tab), one of Princess Meghan's first big non-royal appearances may be at the Met Gala on May 4. Princess Meghan has been invited and will reportedly attend with Vogue editor Edward Enninful, with whom she worked closely on the "Forces for Change" issue (opens in new tab) of British Vogue magazine.
A source said, "The Met Gala is for show business foo-foo's. Naturally, Princess Meghan is one of the first names on the guest list, and Edward's team is excited that the two are going together." The Met Gala is obviously a huge event, and Meghan's appearance will be a pretty big deal.
And for those who have marked their calendars for a possible Meghan/Harry sighting in the future (which is understandable), for Princess Beatrice's wedding on May 29 (opens in new tab) and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (opens in new tab), the two It is also reported that they will fly to England.
