Who is Claire Crawley, a "Bachelor" alumna and rumored "Bachelorette"?
bachelor spoilers. Longtime fans of the Bachelor series will already be familiar with the name Claire Crowley. (opens in new tab) And she's about to return to our TV screens in a big way as the Bachelorette of 2020. (Opens in new tab)So what do we know about this woman from the West Coast? This woman is older than any bachelorette to date, a rare progressive move for this franchise, and has a lot of show history under her belt, including an engagement (opens in new tab) and several viral moments.
Update 3/2: The decision has been made! On Good Morning America, Crawley was officially announced as the next Bachelorette, walking out from behind the screen in a sparkly gray dress and carrying a rose. 'This is my own thing now, and I'm ready,' she said. When asked if she was ready, she replied, "It's the male contestants you should be worried about. I love it.
The announcement is here:
Contrary to tradition, the Bachelorette is not someone from Weber's Bachelor season, as it is often a fan favorite or a top contender, like Hannah Brown in 2019. (But Allie Luyendyk Jr. was also a surprise pick, and as Reality Steve points out, Crowley has a compelling story. She's also been trying to find love through the franchise for some time. So...
So, in total, Crawley has appeared in four franchise shows (and is actually a bit controversial among fans (open in new tab)). She's not as seasoned as alum Chris Bukowski (open in new tab), but she's getting there. She was originally a contestant on a season of The Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis and then fell in love twice on Bachelor in Paradise (seasons 1 and 2). She then made it to the third episode of The Winter Games, where she became briefly engaged.
So she understands the premise of the show and, interestingly, is a bit older than most recent contestants. Crowley is 38 (she will turn 39 during filming). If you recall, in Colton Underwood's season, most of the contestants were under 30, and the big plot point was that contestants under 30 would be given the nickname "cougar" (opens in new tab) (wow). And in Weber's season, few contestants were over 30. But if rumors are to be believed, contestants may still be young.
Crawley loves her home state of California and has a cute little doggie (swipe that, it's actually one of two):
She is a stylist at De Facto Salon (open in new tab). She apparently loves hiking, traveling, exercising, and eating clean. Crawley also admits that 2019 has been a tough year, given the tough diagnosis her mother received, and it is clear that she is relying on friends and family:
Crawley has not commented on a possible announcement, but I enjoyed her latest post:
I mean, it could be a reference to absolutely being on the show and trying to find love, if you want to read into it, right?
