3/3 Update: After the parents of Zahara "ZaZa" Bean, the singing Internet sensation who went viral last fall, accused Kim and Kanye of having North copy their daughter's song, Kim has cleared things up. In the original post (opens in new tab), ZaZa's parents wrote: "We admire Kanye West and admire his journey. However, we do not want to feel like our daughter's journey in the world of entertainment is STIFLED"

Kim quickly jumped in to clear things up and replied (open in new tab): "We love you. North is a huge fan, he and his father record in the studio all the time, he is inspired by ZaZa, and he loves Ray Ray! Today's performance of North's remix of a ZaZa song was a complete surprise, as she asked for it at the last minute. I hope you get to meet these girls soon.

Original post, 3/2: North West, ladies and gentlemen. That Dries Van Noten coat (opens in new tab), the 6-year-old appeared on the catwalk at her father Kanye West's Yeezy show at Paris Fashion Week on Monday, effortlessly rapping as the models walked down the catwalk. After the show, Kanye put his arm around his daughter and seemed impressed.

"This is cool. (Of course it is, North!) She continued: "Yay, yay, yay, walk to the streets, yay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, cool, cute, cool, yeah!"

As she rapped, models clad head-to-toe in earthy hues by Yeezy strutted down the catwalk, slowing down to line up in front of North. Aside from the car horns that signaled the start of the show, the soundtrack (opens in new tab) was just North's voice, and when her father, Kanye, stepped out to join her, North was just a little bit surprised that his arrival seemed to signal that her performance was over ...... seemed annoyed. She also ended the show by screaming into the microphone as fast as she could. This is a boldness that I, at 29, would never have had the audacity to do, but North, at 6, proudly held her own. (Also, "cool, cute, cool, yeah" is stuck in my head.)

My favorite take so far: "North West's rapping drove Nicki, Megan, Cardi, and Doja into early retirement with "WHAT ARE THOSE?"

But honestly, most people were surprised and impressed.
