Both accessories come in "Girl Scout Green" colors, with von Furstenberg's creative take on the iconic Girl Scout three-leaf.
Both organizations share a passion for championing women's voices and inspiring the next generation of young girls to become the women they want to be. Von Furstenberg and her brand are committed to motivating girls and women to be #InCharge (open in new tab), which aligns with the Girl Scouts' mission to help raise girls with the courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place ...
The Diane von Furstenberg Collection will be available today, March 3. Purchasing a scarf or wristlet is an investment in girls who are determined to become the next bold and influential leader, available exclusively at girlscoutshop.com (opens in new tab).
Marie Claire spoke with Diane von Furstenberg and Sylvia Acevedo, CEO of Girl Scouts, about the collaboration.
DVF: The collaboration with Girl Scouts is a real honor for me and an opportunity to make young girls and women feel #InCharge.
DVF: Being #InCharge is important for women of all ages. Owning your imperfections can be an asset. Own your identity.
DVF: The only way to be a role model is to talk about your weaknesses and challenges. I was always open.
DVF: Be honest with yourself. If you are honest with yourself, you can follow your dreams.
DVF: I hope that by speaking openly and frankly, I can help them be themselves and build strength within themselves. Because that is so important.
DVF: Samoa, because I love coconuts.
SA: Diane believes in supporting and developing the next generation of female leaders. She is bold, fearless, and her accomplishments have had an incredible impact. In a world that needs more female leaders, she is having a positive impact on girls all over the world.
SA: Both Halston and Bill Blass reimagined our uniforms to reflect historic American fashion trends of the time. We knew that Diane would understand the power and history behind our logo, the three leaves, and bring it to life in a way that only she could. We respect her as a pioneer and her commitment to women's ambition reflects the same values we have instilled in our girls for over 100 years.
SA: This collaboration is a great opportunity for Girl Scout alumni and women of all ages to show their support for Girl Scouts and the next generation of female leaders by wearing these original designs with pride.
SA: We prepare girls to practice a variety of skills, to explore their potential, and to take on a lifetime of leadership roles, whether in business or running a household. The possibilities are endless. We have seen girls go from running a cookie-cutter business to becoming CEOs of Fortune 500 companies to serving on city councils. In fact, 52% of female business leaders, 69% of female Senators, and 100% of female Secretaries of State come from Girl Scouts. Whichever path she chooses, she will succeed.
SA: Thin Mint. Celebrities like Justin Timberlake, Reese Witherspoon, and Jennifer Garner love to discuss cookies on Instagram. Like it or not, with every purchase, you are helping the next generation of young female entrepreneurs get a taste of what is important to their success.
