Who is Mike Bloomberg's long-term partner, Diana Taylor?

As 2020 Presidential Hope Mike Bloomberg wraps up his campaign today (opens in new tab), his partner, Diana Taylor, has been by his side throughout the runoff. A self-proclaimed "First Woman" to Bloomberg, she started her career on Wall Street and has had a great professional career. What can we learn about her, their relationship, and what it means for his political aspirations?

Taylor worked on Wall Street as early as the 1980s and also served as a bank supervisor in the early 2000s. According to an article in the Washington Post (opens in new tab), she and Bloomberg met at a business event:

"They sat together in 2000 at a business luncheon where he was speaking. He was a billionaire, but not yet a politician. He was a Democrat and she was still a Republican. She left early. That night they happened to dine at the same restaurant. He looked at me and said, "How about a drink afterwards?" I said. Taylor said yes. They have been dating ever since. ......"

.

Bloomberg had divorced his ex-wife Susan Brown (open in new tab) in 1993. He and Taylor have never been married, and Taylor has not spoken about any marriage plans.

But of course she is very supportive of her ambitious partner. She has been out helping Bloomberg with his campaign and apparently has a quiet but powerful communication style:

Bloomberg has two grown children, Georgina and Emma, who have been photographed together:

And Taylor says she defines herself in a few simple ways:

"First of all, I define myself because I have a pretty successful career: ...... I define myself by my family: my parents and my brothers and sisters and their families. And obviously, as Mike's partner or whatever you want to call it: ...... And as a friend to Mike's children, in-law whatever you want to call it."

In other words, they are obviously important to her.
