Chrissy Teigen and John Legend raise their son Miles to be the "ultimate feminist."
Supermodel, superchef, and super-tweeter Chrissy Teigen graces the latest cover of Glamour UK (opens in new tab). She discussed raising her two children with John Legend, Luna and Miles, explaining, "I make sure the boys are the ultimate feminists and love and respect women. We raise them to be feminists. That is our future." Kudos to Chrissy and John!
The couple's shame-free, taboo-free way of talking about their bodies with their children is equally celebratory. 'We're going to talk to [Luna] the same way we wanted to be heard,' Teigen said. 'We will not censor what we say about the body. We do not have the same taboos as when we speak the words "penis" or "vagina."
Teigen also discussed her own mental health, particularly postpartum depression and anxiety. She said, "The last month has been really hard. I tell John, 'Deep down, I know I'm happy. But I think anyone with anxiety knows that it's physically painful to even think about doing anything," she said. 'Reaching for the pills is like picking up a 60-pound dumbbell.'
"But I also know I wasn't being good to myself," Teigen said. 'I wasn't keeping track of my meds. I just took them when I remembered. My chemistry went crazy. So I'm trying to get myself back on track."
