Blake Lively (open in new tab) is using her social media influence to support causes close to her heart.

On Saturday, actress Blake Lively shared a fun, GIF-ified post on her Instagram Story from an account called @stayplasticfree. According to Amazon, the company does not currently offer customers the ability to select specific types of packaging materials, including plastic, but there are ways to ensure that they are as environmentally friendly as possible when it comes to packaging.

Customers can learn more about recycling Amazon's packaging by visiting Amazon Second Chance. There, you can find out the type of packaging you received and the steps you can take to properly recycle that material.

Blake has a long-standing reputation (opens in new tab) as an environmentalist. In a 2011 interview with She Knows (opens in new tab) promoting Green Lantern (the film in which she and her now husband Ryan Reynolds met), she discussed filming in New Orleans and the impact it had on her thinking.

"We were in New Orleans during the oil spill, so I got to see firsthand the effects of the environmental destruction. 'I can't make that big of a change on my own, so I'm going to live my life the way I live it. But it's amazing what one person can do. It is amazing what one person can accomplish. I wish all of us could unite our wills more and make a change. We can fix it.
