Harry and Meghan Markle receive a standing ovation at the Mountbatten Music Festival

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are attending the Mountbatten Music Festival (opens in new tab) this evening. This is their last public appearance before officially stepping down from their senior positions in the royal family, and will almost certainly be Harry's last event as a general in the Royal Marines.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at the festival in matching ensembles. Meghan's stunning red Saffire gown was the exact same shade as Harry's dress. Meghan's stunning red saffia gown was the exact same shade as Harry's uniform. Unfortunately for royal watchers who enjoyed the Duke and Duchess' attire, it is unlikely that Harry will be seen wearing such a uniform, at least not anytime soon.

While the Sussexes discussed their future roles with the rest of the royal family, Harry agreed to relinquish all honorary military titles (opens in new tab).

According to The (opens in new tab)Telegraph (opens in new tab), "By resigning his three honorary positions in the military, he will not be able to wear his uniform at public events such as Trooping the Colour and Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph. will no longer be able to do so."

Tonight, however, the crowd was clearly excited to see him in the "mess dress" known as the uniform.

Prior to the performance, which was attended by a military band to raise money for the Royal Marine Corps Association, the couple found seats in the Royal Box and received a standing ovation from the other attendees.

The Sussexes had only recently returned to England after spending nearly two months in Canada following the announcement that they were transitioning from their roles as active royalty.

But tonight's festival is just one of many events Harry and Meghan are attending this month. Earlier in the week, the royal couple will be honored at the Endeavor Foundation Awards, and on Monday in particular, the Sussexes will attend the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, where they will be reunited with the Queen, Prince Charles, and the Cambridges (opens in new tab).
