Queen reportedly "heartbroken" at not seeing Archie grow up.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's (opens in new tab) royal departure (opens in new tab) will officially take effect later this month, but the Queen is not looking forward to it, according to new reports.

Harry and Meghan (opens in new tab), along with their 10-month-old son Archie Harrison (opens in new tab), are expected to spend most of their time in North America (Canada or the US) after the abdication. This means that the Queen will not see Archie as much as her other great-grandchildren, including Prince William and Kate Middleton's (opens in new tab) three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis (opens in new tab).

A source told Us Weekly (opens in new tab) that Queen Elizabeth is "heartbroken at the thought of not seeing her great-grandchildren."

The queen's fears may not be unfounded. Archie is not spending time in England this year, but is in Canada with Meghan's best friend, Jessica Mulroney (open in new tab).

"The Queen wants to have a relationship with Archie, but it seems unlikely to happen," the source added. The queen's biggest fear is that she may never see Archie again. She is trying to be optimistic about the situation and would never do anything to cast aspersions on Princess Meghan's character.
