On Commonwealth Day, Prince William tried to contain his anger.

On Monday, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended a Commonwealth Day service (opens in new tab) with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, marking the last time the Fab Four represented the royal family at an event together.

During the bittersweet event, held at Westminster Abbey in London, the couple were seated apart from each other (they did not even enter or walk together), and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to leave royal life (opens in new tab) caused a William, adding fuel to the fire of rumors that the rift (opens in new tab) between them had only deepened further.

After the event, Marie Claire chatted with Patti Wood, body language expert and author of Snap: Making the Most of First Impression, Body Language, and Charisma (opens in new tab) Author and body language expert Patti Wood and Marie Claire chatted to gain insight into how William and Kate really felt on their last outing with Harry and Meghan.

"He's doing the Comfort Palm, which is a palm down motion on his leg, and it's comfort, he's trying to suppress his emotional state or how he's feeling," Wood says of William's posture during the ceremony. 'The fist on top of it indicates that he is holding back a slight amount of anger, and when he gets to his mouth, he is pressing his lips together.' The wrinkle between his eyebrows is also anger."

As for the Duchess of Cambridge, Wood says she felt differently about her partner. She "purses her lips slightly, a slight sadness in her eyes. The pursed lips are more like 'this is sad' than 'this doesn't taste good to me.'"

William's feelings were definitely not shaken after the ceremony.

"He's keeping his lips slightly down, very slightly, titled to one side, struggling to hide his feelings, but the glare is an angry glare," Wood explains.

As for Harry, Wood couldn't help but notice that the duke looks very tired.

"He doesn't seem to be sleeping," she commented. 'When he returns to the barracks or from the battlefield, he looks dizzy.'

Maybe it's the recent "heart to heart" (open in new tab) with the Queen, or maybe it's the transatlantic flight, but it seems certain that Harry and Meghan are looking forward to their vacation.
