Prince William says "the day I feared most" came with coronavirus.

Prince William (opens in new tab) has been deeply honest about the global impact of the coronavirus (opens in new tab).

This week, the Duke of Cambridge (opens in new tab) spoke on behalf of the National Emergency Trust, which is working with the British Red Cross to raise funds to support local charities that help those suffering hardship from the coronavirus outbreak.

"I said at its launch last year that I feared the day would come when this fund would be needed. Sadly, with the outbreak of Covid-19, that day has come sooner than any of us had hoped. But now, more than ever, we are grateful for the existence of the National Emergency Trust. The Trust will ensure that aid reaches people across the UK who need it most, as quickly and efficiently as possible."
