Kim Kardashian casually responds to Taylor and Kanye phone leak

The full text of the infamous "Famous" phone call (opens in new tab) between Kanye West and Taylor Swift was leaked on social media over the weekend. Taylor Swift "liked" the Tumblr post noting that she was "telling the truth the whole time" to a subtle response to it (opens in new tab), and Kim Kardashian "liked" one unfunny hot take tweet to it, revealing her own emotions.

Let's provide some background: in 2016, Kim Kardashian published an excerpt (open in new tab) of a phone call between Swift and West on Snapchat, in which West wrote controversial "Famous" lyrics about her, despite Swift's insistence otherwise (lyrics like "I made that made bitch famous" and "I feel like me and Taylor might still be having sex") gave the impression that he approved of all of them. As a result, Swift's reputation took a major hit, Swift was harassed on social media, and the singer had to step back from public appearances for over a year (opens in new tab).

The reality is, Swift wasn't lying: West never agreed to call her "that bitch." As she explained to Rolling Stone (opens in new tab) in September 2019 (opens in new tab), 'The public didn't understand the background and events leading up to it. Because nothing like that happens out of the blue, without any preamble. When he called me a bitch, there were several events that led me to become angry. It was not just a passing incident. Basically, I got really sick of the dynamic between him and me. And it wasn't just based on what happened with that phone call and that song.

In the call, Swift even stated that she was glad that West didn't call her a "stupid, dumb bitch" in the lyrics that ran past her.

"I'm glad you weren't mean." I don't think it was mean, but what a turnout. I thought it was going to be such a stupid dumb bitch, but it isn't."

[10 [On Saturday morning, #KanyeWestIsOverParty and #TaylorWasTellingtheTruth trended on Twitter. Kardashian, however, did not think the call exonerated Swift. She said, "The video shows nothing new. We all knew that. I'm very confused right now."

Kardashian previously said that the Taylor Swift drama ended in September 2016. 'Ugh, do we really have to talk about Taylor Swift? ' If it were up to Kanye, this [the phone call] wouldn't have come out. He can handle it and he doesn't hold a grudge. He really doesn't care. I just wanted to protect my husband. Because I saw him being hurt so badly."

"It wasn't about looks or a feud. Enough is enough. Let's all move on." It's like I don't want to talk about her anymore."
