After wartime fabric restrictions were lifted, full skirts made a comeback, but women still paired pencil skirts with peplum jackets, creating an hourglass figure In the 50s, pencil skirts were long and boxy; in the 60s they became shorter and tighter, and mini skirts disappeared as fashion conquered.
