Tom Hanks gives update on his return to the U.S. after coronavirus quarantine

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson (opens in new tab) are out of coronavirus quarantine, but that doesn't mean they are free from isolation.

The couple returned to the U.S. this week and were photographed riding in an SUV in Los Angeles on Friday (opens in new tab).

On Saturday, Hanks shared an update (opens in new tab) on Twitter about his and Wilson's return and the ongoing coronavirus protocol.

"Hey guys... We are home now and continuing to live in shelters and social distancing, just like the rest of the US," he wrote.

"My deepest thanks to everyone in Australia who has taken such good care of us. Their care and guidance has made it possible for us to return to the US. I would also like to thank all those who have offered their sympathies. Rita and I are very grateful. Hanks"
