Prince Charles keeps special memories of Prince William and Prince Harry in the Oval Office.

Prince Charles was diagnosed with a new coronavirus last Monday. Or so the royal family's business as usual, even in the midst of a global pandemic.

Today, Prince Charles, known as Lord Rossy in Scotland where he is currently staying, helped celebrate the de facto opening of the NHS Nightingale Hospital, a London conference center converted into a temporary medical facility with 4,000 bed spaces.

He made a video call to the ceremony, offering a message of support to those involved in getting the medical facility up and running during the COVID-19 crisis.

"I must say, I was very moved that we were asked to open the Nightingale Hospital as part of the mass mobilization to withstand the coronavirus crisis.

"This hospital is undoubtedly a remarkable, almost incredible feat in every sense of the word. It is an example of how human will and ingenuity can make the impossible possible and how the unthinkable can be accomplished.

Prince Charles called the process of converting the space into a hospital "incredible" and thanked everyone involved in the effort, from the planners and builders to the doctors and nurses who will eventually use the facility.

And he spoke of himself, having shared the coronavirus: "I am one of the lucky ones who had a relatively mild case of COVID-19. But for some, it will be a much more difficult journey. So I am very relieved to have the peace of mind that all will receive the technical care they need and every chance to return to a normal life."

Prince Charles concluded his message by acknowledging the icon that gave the hospital its name.

"It goes without saying that the name of this hospital could not have been more appropriately chosen. Florence Nightingale, 'The Lady with the Lamp,' brought hope and healing to thousands of people in their darkest hour. In these dark times, this place will be a shining light."

"It symbolizes the selfless care and dedicated service that takes place in countless places across the UK, with countless people."

This morning, in addition to news of Prince Charles' video call, Clarence House released a photo of the process (above) that gives a rare peek into the royal workspace at Birkhall, the Scottish residence of the The company has.

Not only did the photos reveal that the Crown Prince had somehow created the iPad stand from his book Harmony (opens in new tab).

On closer inspection, however, family photos cover nearly every surface of the room, including pictures of Prince Charles' mother and father, the Queen and Prince Philip, his late grandmother Queen Mama, and of course his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Other photos include a sweet portrait of Prince George and a picture of Prince Charles and Camilla together.
